‘As an homage to the 40th Anniversary of the Summer of Love the creative and entertaining folks from Black Rock (Nevada, USA,) have created a temporary bandshell for accoustic music in the Panhandle.’
‘The shell is a traditional bandshell and was constructed out of reclaimed, reused materials. From June 23 to September 3, 2007, it was located in San Francisco’s Panhandle park (California, USA), just west of the Clayton Street crossing, where it was open for an amazing number of acoustic neighborhood performances.
The outer skin was crafted by overlapping 75 automobile hoods. The underside of these hoods was painted a silver color and the structural support arches were covered with computer circuit boards. The back wall was crafted from stacked plastic drinking water bottles and illuminated with low-powered, amber-colored LED solar-powered lights. The stage surface was made with reclaimed solid-core doors.’‘As an homage to the 40th Anniversary of the Summer of Love the creative and entertaining folks from Black Rock (Nevada, USA,) have created a temporary bandshell for accoustic music in the Panhandle.’
